Add a little pink to your home this Valentine’s Day with the Happy Pink Crochet Heart Garland. I provide both a written pattern and a video tutorial!

It’s January. I like the snow. And we’re getting plenty! My walls are gray, the sky is gray, and I need some pink in my life. Valentine’s Day is coming soon and provides the perfect opportunity to pink up all this gray around me. Finally, I get to crochet that heart garland I’ve been wanting to make. Of course, you can use whatever color yarn you want. For this article, I’m showing you how to create the Happy Pink Crochet Heart Garland.

Momma Needs Some Pink

Usually, I go for red decorations for Valentine’s Day. This year, pink is just calling to me. It’s such a happy color, and it goes so well with gray.

On social media some of you saw the wool throw I completed recently. I love it so much I ordered yarn to make another. This one will be made with Lion Brand Wool-ease yarn in Blush Heather. I can’t wait for the yarn to arrive so I can get started on it!

Planning for the Happy Pink Crochet Heart Garland is easy. I want it in pink and white. Recently I ordered a sweet Valentine heart farmhouse style sign from Painted Pink Peony on Etsy. I think it pairs well with the heart garland at my coffee & hot cocoa station.

Finally! I retrieved my sign from the UPS Store and got it hung above my Valentine Coffee & Hot Cocoa Bar. Isn’t it adorable?

The dresser being used as a small “buffet” for my coffee & hot cocoa bar in my dining area is a garage sale find from 25 years ago. I gave it new life with Rescue Restore paint from A Maker’s Studio in the color Biscuits and Gravy. This paint covers well, and best of all contains no VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds – solvents that are released as the paint dries. VOCs can cause headaches, dizziness and are suspected carcinogens). And this paint smells like vanilla.

It was sleeting and the light was terrible when I took this photo. But I want you to see the dresser I refurbished.

The Valentine decorated tiered tray is inspired by Carrie at Curly Crafty Mom. I’m so glad I made friends with all these amazing decor bloggers. I’m learning a lot from them!

The pretty mugs, the pink decorative string, the napkin holder, and the labels are all from Target.

Stringing the Hearts

With the crochet hook, weave the white yarn through a loop in each of the top curves of the hearts to hold them up. Then hang your pretty garland to enjoy and spread love and pink happiness.

    1. Hi Carrie! I’m so glad you stopped by! I was just updating this post with a link to your blog so others can go there and see who inspired my 3 tier stand decorating. I have some beginning crochet video tutorials that are short and simple to help you get started on learning to crochet one stitch at a time. And I use a super-bulky yarn and large hook so you can clearly see how the stitch is made. Thank you for the inspiration and kind words. ?

  2. Adorable! I wish I had seen your crochet heart garland earlier, Kay. I may think about trying to make these as I think my crampy carpal tunnel plagued hands could handle something fast and easy like these.

Thanks for a fun video and good instructions,
    Barb 🙂
