I just want to be clear that this is not a sponsored post. Lion Brand Yarn is my favorite brand of yarn and I use it for most of my crochet projects. My only link with Lion Brand Yarn is as an affiliate with Amazon.

If You’ve Never Crocheted Before, Start Here

My article Crochet 101: Beginner’s Tutorial Videos contains four easy-to-follow videos demonstrating very basic skills. If you’ve never crocheted before, start with this article. It teaches you how to read a crochet pattern, how to create a foundation chain, how to do a single crochet stitch, and how to do a double crochet stitch. You will also learn what items are needed to get started learning to crochet.

I really recommend learning to crochet with a simple, super-bulky yarn (size 6) and a large crochet hook (size P or also called 12mm). Like the oversized crayons we used when we learned to color, the larger sized yarn and hook are easier to handle to help you gain the dexterity to crochet. Then, as you get comfortable with how to hold the yarn and create the stitches, move to smaller sized yarns.

Easy, Free Infinity Scarf Video Tutorial

This infinity scarf video tutorial shows you how to create a simple infinity scarf. You need 2 skeins of super-bulky size yarn. In the video, I’m using Lion Brand Heartland Thick & Quick in the color Katmai. Heartland Thick & Quick comes in several beautiful colors, so go ahead and choose your favorite!

You also need a size P-12mm crochet hook.

The Written Pattern for the Simple Infinity Scarf in the Video

This pattern is incredibly simple. You get a little variation in the stitches, but nothing complicated.

Ch 13 for the starting chain

Row 1: sc all across the row, ch 1

Row 2: dc all across the row, ch 3

Repeat this pattern until the infinity scarf is 60 inches long.

Then bring the two ends of the scarf together and crochet them to each other using a back-and-forth stitch forming a circle. When the ends are stitched together, cut the yarn about 4 inches from the final stitch and tie it off.

If you like, add some fun and funky antique buttons to your new infinity scarf! I love antique buttons. They give a simple scarf some personality.

More to Easy, Free Crochet Video Tutorials to Come!

I really enjoy creating these crochet video tutorials. On deck videos showing how to create the Relief Shell Stitch to make a warm, wool blend throw and how to work with Lion Brand Homespun yarn to make a throw. Homespun yarn is an absolutely gorgeous yarn, but it can be a little tricky because it’s spun differently from most yarns. It’s one of my favorite yarns and I want you to be able to use it for your projects as well. I’ll also be showing you how to make baby blankets, pretty scalloped edge potholders and more!

  1. Hello Kay! Such a pretty scarf… I cannot crochet but I still knit once in a blue moon; carpal tunnel syndrome limits what small fine motor things I can do anymore. 🙁 Definitely pinning for anyone who can, though, to my Crafts & Sewing board for you! <3

Keep warm where you are, spring is coming,
    Hugs,
    Barb 🙂
